Seeking God

We are on a journey through life. We believe that we were created by God and that God is leading us forward.

In one sense all that we do is worship - all we do is in response to the life and love that God has given to us. More particularly, however, we set aside time to seek God out. We do this individually - reading the Bible and in prayer. We also do this in community - gathering to read and study the Bible, to pray, and to sing.

We Worship.

It is important to take time regularly to focus on God together. While we can worship individually, there is something special about coming together for this. It is a part of how we were created to be - not alone but in community and with an awareness and focus on God's life in our midst.

We Read and Study God's Word.

The Bible is God's Word to us - revealing how God has been and is at work in us and in the world around us. The Scriptures show us reality beyond what we see day to day - and though ancient texts, they reveal truth to us about who we are and who we can be and lead us into the future that God has prepared for us.

We Pray.

God is interested in hearing from us. That is part of the wonder of the God we serve who came among us as Jesus of Nazareth. We know that God can understand who we are, even if we cannot fully understand who/what God is - God is too big for our minds to comprehend. In spite of this God reveals God-self to us and we can learn. God wants to have a relationship with us - hearing from us, but also with us listening to God speaking to us.

We Sing and Make Music Together.

Music is an important and rich part of life. We share a variety of musical styles in our worship services and time together.
